Margie and Chaslyn met in pre-college 2011 at Hampton University as rising seniors in high school. After graduating from high school they both decided to return to Hampton where their friendship only blossomed. They continued to motivate one another as they fought their way through graduate school and frequently prayed for one another. When one is in need they know the other will be there.

Littile did they know that the upcoming year they would pledge together and become line sisters. They continued their journey at Hampton as being leaders academically and socially. Their bond grew so strong even their families became close. Their love for one another is unbreakable.

Whitney and Chaslyn also met freshman year of college while volunteering together. They instantly connected because they were both from the same home state. Durning the summer breaks they would meet up for dinners and catch up on life. They both pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha while at Hampton University which grew their relationship even more. Khadija and Chaslyn met at a local college party when they were living in Hampton Roads, Virginia. They instantly had a great connection, however their relationship didn't blossom until after they graduated from college and stated traveling across the globe together. Khadija has always been one phone call away when Chaslyn is in need and vice versa. They have a bond that will last forever.

Jasmine and Chaslyn met at birth as first cousins. Chaslyn has always looked up and admired Jasmine as her big cousin. Majority of Chaslyn's most memorable childhood moments where with Jasmine. That all changed when she followed in Chaslyn's footsteps to her Alma Mater Hampton University and blossomed into a independent, beautiful woman. Chaslyn and Ari grew even closer while at Hampton University and are tight as can be.

Helen and Chaslyn met prior to birth figuratively speaking. Their mothers were pregnant together and delivered only one week apart. Years later Helen and her family relocated to another state where they lost contact. However, Helen returned to Michigan to attend college at Michigan State University and they reconnected like never before.

Jazmin and Chaslyn met while the bride lived in Charlotte, NC. Chaslyn was new to the area and looking for a nail tech when one day she stumbled upon Jazmin's amazing work. Chaslyn immediately made an appointment and once they met the energy amazing. Chaslyn and Jazmin together are two goofballs and bring out the best in one another.

Kevin and Dion met in K-4 at Cathedral of Faith Christian School in Chesapeake, Virginia. From the age of 4 until present time, they have had an inseparable brotherhood. After elementary school, they went to different schools but promised that school would be the only thing they did differently in life. So much so that in their senior year in high school, they applied to the same colleges, which turned into the Battle of the Real HU. Kevin attended Hampton University “The REAL HU”, while Dion attended Howard University in the Fall of 2010. Through their matriculation of undergrad and professional school, they pushed each other to greatness and continue to do so. With 25 years of friendship, Kevin is excited to call his best friend “The Best Man” in his wedding.

Kevin and Darrion met through a mutual friend who knew that the two were attending North Carolina Central School of Law in the Fall of 2014. Kevin and Darrion had many commonalities. They both were raised in the Hampton Roads area, they both had a love for the law, and most importantly, they are both men of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc. In their 2nd and 3rd year of law school they were roommates who stuck with each other through the rigorous course load of law school classes as well as the bar exam. Though only a year older, Darrion is Kevin’s big “Brother-In-Law” who has always been a loyal and determined friend that has always supported each of Kevin’s endeavors.

Kevin and Jerraud are first cousins that are only four months apart. By them only being 4 months apart, they grew up together as cousins but acted like brothers. As children, Jerraud was the reader while Kevin was the sneaky wild child, and Kevin will admit he would implicate Jerraud in a lot of his antics, but that’s what family is for! Jerraud has always pushed Kevin to excel in academics and be the person he can be.

Kevin and Isaiah met at the age of 5 at the Virginia Martial Arts Center. The mutual competitive nature turned into a lifelong friendship. Each weekend, they would go over each other’s house to play video games, work out, and even build investment plans to become wealthy one day. Isaiah has always been a supportive best friend and brother that whenever Kevin needed him, he has been there.

Kevin and Aerial met when Kevin moved to Lumberton, North Carolina, to work for Legal Aid of North Carolina. Aerial welcomed Kevin with open arms and taught him many skills to become a great attorney in the area. Because Lumberton had such a small population, they spent the majority of their time with each other learning commonalities and gaining a long lasting friendship. Aerial is the type of friend who would take the shirt off of his back just to help and support his friends, and he has shown that through his friendship with Kevin.

Kevin and Biniam met Kevin’s Freshman year at Hampton University in Political Science class. From studying for their first test to defending their Senior Thesis, they have bonded together to create a great friendship. Biniam and Kevin also pledged together and became line brothers in the Gamma Iota Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc. Biniam has always been a great friend, line brother, and legal colleague that Kevin could count on each and every day.

Kevin and Tra’Von met Kevin’s Junior year at Hampton University in the Student Center because they were both being reprimanded for something they didn’t even do. That commonality matriculated into a friendship, and a year later, Kevin and Tra’Von pledged together and became line brothers in the Gamma Iota Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc. The two would experience life’s journey together not only at Hampton University, but also North Carolina Central University two years later. Tra’Von has always been an inspiration to Kevin for his resilience and motivation.

Kevin and Avery met at Atlantic Shores Christian School playing football. The mutual love for the sport transcended into the brotherhood they have today. Avery’s family became a second family to Kevin. If there is one word Kevin could describe for Avery it would be “loyalty”. Avery has been there through the failures and the success, so for the most successful day, on November 6, 2021, Kevin is excited to have Avery by his side.

Kevin and Bruce met freshman year at Hampton University in band camp, where they both played the Saxophone. Bruce was Kevin's first friend at Hampton, and the friendship has grown into a brotherhood. Throughout their tenure at Hampton, they were college roommates, living typical college life and even pledged their respective fraternities the same year. Bruce has supported Kevin in every way possible throughout the years and from band camp to Kevin's wedding, he continues to do so.

TERRY "TJ" WILLIAMS

Kevin and TJ met in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2019, during a double date. The two instantly clicked, so much so, they spent majority of the night talking about each others lives and commonalities. Since that day, TJ and Kevin’s friendship has grown into an unexpected brotherhood. The two have seen each other successes in life and have been there through it all. TJ brings a spirit of joy that Kevin appreciates and cherishes to this day.

Kevin and Tony met while Tony was being initiated in the Gamma Iota Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc. in the Spring of 2017. Little did they know, a year later, Kevin would fall in love with Tony’s sister Chaslyn, The Bride. When Chaslyn brought the information to Tony that she liked Kevin, Tony had one request, “If you all date, y’all BETTER get married!”. Kevin kept that promise while also growing a bond with Tony. Throughout the years, Tony and Kevin have became not only fraternity brothers, best friends, and family.

Kevin and Lawrence played basketball against each other in their 10th grade year of High School, and they both attended Hampton University in the Fall of 2010. Lawrence and Kevin also pledged together and became line brothers in the Gamma Iota Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc. While in college, they shared memories and continued those memories after college. Lawrence is Kevin’s brother in a deeper sense because they connected not only with sports and school, but spiritually.
